Personal Statement
I am very happy to be practicing pediatrics in my hometown. I have been at Pediatric Associates of Mobile since September of 2007. Prior to that, I worked for three years at a community health center in Bayou La Batre, AL helping the underserved children of our area.
Pediatricians have a unique opportunity to provide guidance and education for their patients from birth through adolescence. I specialize in general pediatric healthcare and focus my practice on preventative medicine. Among the many topics discussed during wellness visits will be safety, disease prevention, nutrition, and management of chronic conditions such as asthma, eczema, ADHD, constipation, and allergies. Specifically I enjoy helping patients and their families learn more about nutrition particularly as it pertains to the ever growing issue of childhood obesity. I believe that spending time with and listening to my patients is the best way to develop what I hope will be a lasting personal relationship. It is my goal to foster in my patients a true interest in their own health and well being.
Immunizations are perhaps the single most important contribution of modern medicine. I firmly stand behind the CDC’s recommended vaccine schedule as the best way to keep our children safe from many potentially deadly diseases.
Hobbies/Personal Life
When I am not at work I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband Domenic and I have two smart and kind daughters. We are blessed to get to spend time with my mom almost every day. Every summer we travel to Canada to visit the Spadafora side of the family. I am actively involved in my children’s school. I also enjoy reading modern fiction, listening to Podcasts, hiking, working out and am an avid music fan.
